An inspiringly independent year full of hope and excitement for what is to come….
Classroom ratio: 2 staff to 16 students or 1:8
Small to Tall staff is State of Ct. licensed staff members and background checked.
All staff members are Adult/Child & Infant CPR trained as well as First Aid and Emergency Medication Administration certification
Students can be enrolled if they turn 4 or 5 years old before December, 31. 2019.
We offer a 1:8 ratio versus the mandated 1:10 because we believe this best benefits your child.
Our program and curriculum is available for parent’s looking for a transitional year for their child. This would be an additional year before kindergarten even though they may be age appropriate. We would be able to challenge them academically and keep them socially intrigued while focusing on areas of your child’s interest. We love including the children in the curriculum building process.
This preschool program which helps prepare your child for kindergarten and life, is a program and environment built for each group of students. Students are offered the small group opportunity by having a homeroom of 8 or less classmates but also enjoy being a part of a larger class when we combine the two homerooms on a daily basis. This allows the kids to work, sing, dance and play in large group activities as well. How much fun is this to have the best of both worlds as your little one’s start to acclimate themselves to a big size school with big size numbers!!!
We are so incredibly blessed for all of the staff, parents and children here at Small to Tall, we truly are a family!!!
It is Small to Tall‘s philosophy that the early childhood preschool program should be a time of fun, warmth, security, exploration, and discovery. Preschool children are creative and receptive and our program strives to nurture these qualities in each student. Our students are exposed to academic and cognitive opportunities that may not be available at other programs. As always, our first priority after your child’s happiness and safety, is building & ensuring their self-confidence, as well as supporting your and our values of kindness, friendship. and community.
As essential as the ABC’s and 123’s are, they will come, and we will assist in teaching them…but they will follow faster with our first priorities addressed initially.
It is our belief that the early childhood preschool program should be an environment for children “to learn, to learn”, a safe place for students to make mistakes and to “practice” how to socialize in a classroom atmosphere. This means, we know to expect some pushing and not sharing, etc. This is PREschool and where your child will learn by positive modeling.
